The County’s National Conversation on Climate Action is titled:
Awareness. Action. Change.
Uniting to Go Green

The County has already begun taking serious action on climate protection at the county level. Meaningful action on climate change must involve everyone; this event will engage the community. The County will be presenting, via exhibits and workshops, all the existing County and regional green initiatives. Most of the Conversation will be devoted to small group workshops, engaging the community in an open dialogue about solutions.
The conversations will include a common language interpretation of Assembly Bill 32 (AB 32) the California Global Warming Solution Act of 2006 and California Air Resources Board (ARB) Scoping Plan that outlines the State’s strategy to achieve the greenhouse gas emission limit required by AB 32.
Speakers will include:
*Alberto Mendoza, CEO and President of Coalition for Clean Air
*Michael Peevey, President, California Public Utilities Commission
*Michael Crooke, CEO of prAna Living, former CEO of Patagonia and Revolution Living
*LA County Supervisors
*Eric Garcetti, LA City Council President
*Art Leahy, Metro CEO
Discussion topics will include: How Will the Emissions Market Work?, What’s New in Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy?, Planning and Regional Transportation, Climate Change and Public Agency Action, Education and Workforce Development, Living Green and Freedom Gardens.
